It’s the design philosophy Darin has developed over 33 years of working with Colorado properties. Instead of the rock-and-gravel look most people associate with xeriscaping, Colorado Mountainscape blends native perennials, natural boulders, and water features to create landscapes with real character that thrive in our climate. It’s water-efficient without looking like it.

We were literally born from water. Darin started the company as Irrigation Engineers, then grew into Paradise Ponds before becoming Paradise Outdoor Design & Landscaping. Waterfalls, pondless streams, fish ponds, and bubbling rock features are in our DNA. It’s not a side service for us.

This is actually our specialty. Most of our projects are renovations and enhancements of existing yards, not blank-slate new builds. Darin’s approach is to look at what you already have and find ways to transform it rather than start from scratch.

Every property and vision is different, so we don’t use one-size-fits-all pricing. After the consultation and design phase, you’ll receive a detailed proposal with clear line items. The number you see is the number you pay. 

Absolutely. Many of our clients break their vision into phases spread over two or three seasons. Darren can design a master plan for the full property and then we build it in stages that fit your budget and timeline. Several of our long-term clients started this way.

Our clients consistently tell us their outdoor space became the room they use the most. Beyond the daily enjoyment, a well-designed landscape adds real value to your home. Many of our customers have been with us for 10 or more years across multiple projects, which says a lot about the return they see.

It depends on scope. A focused patio or fire pit project might take a week or two. A full backyard transformation with water features, hardscaping, and plantings could take several weeks. We’ll give you a clear timeline during the proposal phase and keep you updated throughout.

You’ll know your crew by name. Ryan leads most of our projects, and the same team stays on your job from start to finish. You won’t see a rotating cast of strangers on your property each morning.
